Karolina Majewska-Güde is an independent researcher, writer and curator. She graduated with a degree in Art History from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and in Visual Histories from Goldsmith College. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the Institute of Art and Visual History at Humboldt University completing a dissertation on Ewa Partum’s artistic practice. Her research focuses on neo-avant-garde artistic strategies and transnational art history. She has published in numerous periodicals including Obieg, Format, Artmix, Magazyn Szum and in exhibition catalogues on Jarosław Kozlowski, Ewa Partum, Slavs and Tatars, Christoph Schlingensief, among others. In 2015, she co-curated exhibition and lecture series at Poznan’s pf gallery: Techniques of Release, presenting photographic and video works of neo-avant-garde artists (Tomislav Gotovac, Ewa Partum, Dora Maurer, Lynn Hershman Leeson, Annegret Soltau, Suzy Lake) in a dialog with recent works by Ann Collier, Verena Dengler, Jakob Lena Knebl,; Salvatore Viviano, Mathilde ter Hejne, Marina Faust among others. She also co-authored and co-edited the catalogue from this series. She is a member of curatorial collective pisze/mówi/robi . She lives and works in Berlin.
