I have one comment to your quote above, "But the rectangles, triangles, and trapezoids representing sound events contain no information about timbre or texture." Actually, we studied Kotonski's score in an Electronic Music class, and frequency range as well as amplitude are documented in his score from "Etiuda na jedno uderzenie w talerz". So, are timbre and texture not actually documented in scores like Kotonski's that contain frequency (in Hz) and amplitude (in dB) information?
